We are always in
search of high quality original vintage Hawaiiana for both collecting
and resale, Our inventory is always revolving. Call or email for our
latest offerings.
The original Vintage
hulalamps (The inspiration for Charles' pieces) were produced in the
1930's and 40's by Dodge Inc. The original vintage lamps are becoming
even more rare and difficult to find in good working condition. Below
is a display of some of the original designs. These lamps were cast
in ceramic or in an inexpensive casting material called pot metal which
many toy items of this period were produced. Pot metal is a pourous
exceptionally fragile material and can become very brittle over time
and difficult if not impossible to repair to original condition. The
original lamps are usually finished with electroplating or handpainted
for a more aesthetically appealing appearance. If nostalgia is what
you are looking for a vintage piece is the way to go although they will
set you back a little more than one of our re-created pieces. These
girls can get a little temperamental after sixty years of hula so these
are lamps that you definitely operate sparingly. If you want both form,
function and something to be around a generation or more you can't beat
Charles' beautiful bronze recreation and original designs. Regardless
of your choice these lamps will most certainly become a major conversation
piece in your home and something to be treasured.

| Completely
Rebuilt Vintage Lamp - This beautiful handpainted arms down hula lamp
is a relatively rare model. There is an even more rare and very desireable
arm down unpainted bronze finish of this style. This beauty is accompanied
by our "Savage" coolie fabric shade. This fabric has a vintage
style to its design. |

| Completely
Rebuilt Vintage Lamp - Pot metal with a rich plating, accented with
brass and copper colored bands. Accompanied with a burlap coolie shade
with fringe. |
 |
| This
lamp is the same model as shown above. This girl has become known
as the headache lamp due to the way she is holding onto her haku headpiece.
This is probably the most common and popular of the old vintage Dodge
lamps due to the appealing electroplated finish. Accompanied by our
handpainted distressed coolie shade. |
 |
| Certainly
one of the more rare of the old dodge lamps. This beauty is number
250 in her series and is cast in ceramic. There is a version of this
lamp in metal with this unique wave base.We still need to give her
some TLC as well as a new skirt. Strange rotating mechanism is located
where one would expect to find her navel. |
 |
| This
is a shallow base arms up hulalamp. She is non functioning and not
for sale. We wanted to show her to create a display of a variety of
the old lamps. Due to the fragile nature of pot metal this one had
a mishap putting her into retirement. |
 |
| Probably
the most rare and desireably Vintage lamps we have come across are
the radio and clock base Dodge lamps. Not too many of those around
and they certainly fetch a premium! |
Oops,
should have snapped some pictures before letting those beauties go
